Its three public choices are Current Inmates, Recent Arrests, and Outstanding Warrants. The current roster showed 608 people and the recent-arrest list showed 49 records when inspected on July 14, 2026. Those figures change with bookings and releases. No official refresh interval was found, so confirm urgent custody questions by phone.

Current Inmates is the right Montgomery County roster for people held in county pretrial or local custody. Recent Arrests is a separate 96-hour list. Neither search is a full criminal case file. Charges may change after prosecutors and courts act, and release from the list does not show the case outcome. For the filing, plea, disposition, or sentence, use the Montgomery County criminal court record.

The county roster also does not cover every form of custody. A sentenced Alabama prison inmate belongs in the Alabama Department of Corrections search. Federal inmates belong in the Bureau of Prisons locator. VINELink is the separate victim and custody-notification channel. People held by the City of Montgomery Municipal Jail follow the city jail route rather than the county detention roster.

Identity checks should use more than a name. Compare the date of birth and booking date, then open the detail row. A common name can produce several Montgomery County inmate records, while a suffix or middle name may appear only in the full profile.

Search Montgomery County Inmates

The public grid accepts a broad name search. It uses a contains match across first and last name, so a partial spelling can help when the full form is uncertain. The roster then provides the name, date of birth, booking date, sorting, filtering, pagination, and a View button. A hidden BookNum opens the individual detail page.

1. Open Current Inmates for present county custody or Recent Arrests for bookings made during the last 96 hours.
2. Enter part or all of the first or last name in the search toolbar. There is no required booking-number input in the inspected roster.
3. Compare the name, date of birth, and booking date. Use gender, race, and age on the recent-arrest grid when needed.
4. Select View to open the inmate detail by its internal BookNum and review the profile fields.
5. Call the Sheriff's Office at (334) 832-4980 when a result is missing, identity is uncertain, or current release status matters.

Note: A booking number is not a criminal court case number, and a roster result does not prove guilt or show the final charge disposition.

Montgomery County Recent Arrests

The Recent Arrests grid is limited to the last 96 hours. It is useful when a person may have just entered local custody and the current-inmate name search is unclear. Each row can show the full name, gender, race, age, date of birth, and booking date, with a View button that opens the inmate detail through BookNum. Pagination offers 10, 25, or 50 rows.

A recent-arrest row and a current-inmate row answer different time questions. The first shows a recent booking event. The second shows who appears to be housed at the time of the roster search. Release, transfer, or a data update can cause the lists to differ. Neither result states that the person was convicted. The charge description in a booking profile is an accusation or custody field, and the prosecutor may later amend, reduce, drop, or formally file a different charge.

The sheriff portal also carries outstanding warrants, but a warrant row is not a booking. It has its own FolderNum, warrant number, birth date, and issue date. When the purpose is to learn whether an arrest led to a live court case, save the name and booking date, then check the appropriate District or Circuit Court case record. Do not search the court by BookNum because the jail's internal booking identifier is not the court's case number.

Montgomery County Sheriff App

The Montgomery County AL Sheriff app can search inmates and recent arrests. It also offers sheriff news, events, Amber Alerts, and a sex-offender locator. It is not an emergency-reporting tool; emergencies go to 911. The app is available through both major mobile stores.

Montgomery County Inmate Visitation

Mac Sim Butler visits use the Video Visitation Program. Every visit must be registered and scheduled through ICSolutions at least one day in advance and no more than one week ahead. Only approved visitors may participate, with no more than four visitors per inmate. On-site visits use terminals in the facility visitation center. Remote visits are fee-based and require a tested Windows, Android, or iOS application.

Municipal Jail Visitation Schedule

The City of Montgomery Municipal Jail uses a different schedule. Visitors must bring valid photo ID. Cell phones and packages are not allowed. These time blocks apply only to the municipal jail, not the Montgomery County detention facility.

• Male federal inmates and city prisoners with court dates: Saturday, 8:00 am-10:30 am and 12 noon-4:00 pm.
• Male convicts and city inmates serving time: Sunday, 8:00 am-10:30 am and 12 noon-3:00 pm.
• Female inmates: Sunday, 3:00 pm-5:00 pm.

Official Montgomery County sources reviewed did not provide commissary deposit rules, mail addressing rules, phone rates, tablet details, dress code, child-visitor policy, or holiday changes. Those details are intentionally not stated. Confirm any such issue with the Sheriff's Office before sending funds, mail, or property.

The same limit applies to release projections and housing assignments. Those fields were not visible in the inspected inmate model. Bond and charge details may be stronger in the app description than in a current-inmate grid row, but the court remains the source for a filed charge and current bond order. If a visitor needs the inmate's approved scheduling identity, confirm the exact roster profile before registering with ICSolutions. A similar name or an old recent-arrest entry can point to the wrong person.

Remote visits require the user to download and test the ICSolutions application before scheduling. Android users are directed to The Visitor or ICS MOBILE; iOS users search the Apple Store for ICS MOBILE. The tested device must be ready before a time can be booked. On-site users still register in the same system, then use the video terminals at the facility visitation center. The one-day minimum and one-week maximum scheduling window apply to both planning and availability.
